1. Alaska’s Department of Public Safety is funneling resources to Fairbanks in response to a recent spike in violent crime.
2.  A federal grand jury returned an indictment last week charging a Fairbanks man with illegally trafficking firearms and drug-related offenses.
3.  Thousands of Alaskans who rely on the federal marketplace for health insurance are experiencing sticker shock as they apply for coverage for 2026.
4.  An Alaska Marine Lines barge that was headed to Alaska began taking on water off the coast of British Columbia, and is now headed back to Seattle.
5.  The company spearheading the proposed Alaska gasline project estimates it needs around 7,000 workers at peak construction of the 800-mile pipeline.
